Government Center

With a 1.8 million dollar contract, the Smith Electrical Division is currently working for the County of San Luis Obispo to wire their new County Government Center. This cast-in-place concrete 97,000 square foot office building over two levels of 64,000 square feet of subterranean parking, broke ground in November, 2002 and is slated for completion by the end of 2004. The electrical division is responsible for installation of a 2000 amp, 480 volt Service fed from the County of SLO’s CoGeneration Power Plant, which also services two other County buildings.

 There are 45 distribution subpanels, 12 distribution transformers, linked fire alarm/PA system, high tech lighting control system, 11 telephone equipment rooms and a CAT VI data communication system to be installed.
