Communications Facility

From August of 1997 until July 2000, the electrical division of Smith fulfilled a $3,000,000 contract to Overhaul the Electrical Distribution System for the Department of Defense Communications Facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base. A standby generator plant was constructed consisting of three 750 KW Generators providing 12KV power. New 12KV feeders were installed to three communication buildings including replacement of the substations and a complete upgrade of both critical and non-critical power for all three communication buildings.
